A harmonious blend of the finest ‘old tawnies’, aged in oak casks with a remarkable average age of 11+ years at the time of bottling. Quite dark in colour with tinges of brick red. The bouquet shows liqueured berry fruits of figs, prunes, subtle vanilla oak, a hint of spice and some nuttiness. The palate has a smoky character with sweet, raisined fruits. It is rich and smooth with rancio characters, softened and broadened by its time in the wood. Full, unctuous flavours with a mouth filling viscosity and a long finish that must be tasted to be believed. Luscious intensity and a bright fruitiness make this a great winter evening wine. Bring on the Stilton!
